Physiotherapy and Conditions treated
- Initial Assessment:
On your first visit there will be a Subjective assessment and an Objective assessment:
A Subjective Assessment includes being asked a series of questions covering your injury/condition, relevant past medical history, medications and social history. The information gathered in this assessment will help form a picture about the problem your suffering with and what might be causing it.
An Objective Assessment includes testing a number of relevant things, which may include: your movement, strength, muscle length, balance, sensation, nerve tension and reflexes. Other tests designed to investigate dysfunction of specific structures, ie joints, ligament's, tendons etc may also be used.
These assessments help the Physiotherapist form a diagnosis for your injury/condition. This diagnosis will then be explained to your in the most understandable way possible.
Treatment may be included during the initial assessment if appropriate. - Treatment:
This will be provided using the modalities that are most appropriate for you.
These modalities may include:
- Manual Therapy (Hands on therapy which helps to loosen stiff joints & modulate pain)
- Massage
- Acupuncture (Inserting fine, sterilized needles, into the body. You will be asked to complete a consent form before this treatment takes place)
